513 City Flea June 20 2016, 0 Comments

Thanks to all who made it out to City Flea this past weekend--we had a great time! I will also be attending Saturday, July 16. If you're in the Cincinnati area you should stop on by--it's located in Washington Park in the historic Over-the-Rhine neighborhood of Cincinnati. We'll have all the belts & buckles out on display to see (and buy!).

Featured in STORY The Magazine October 01 2014, 0 Comments

Osage Belt & Buckle was recently fortunate enough to be featured in Story Magazine--a fine publication showcasing all things uniquely Kentucky.  As a subscriber to the magazine, I didn't have to think twice when asked if I would be willing to be interviewed for an article; it's an honor to be included with a growing list of such talented Kentuckians.  Maybe I did think twice when they told me there would be a photoshoot, though.  But that's why I brought Jack with me--I knew he'd be photogenic if I wasn't.  If you haven't picked up your copy yet you should go out and grab one or subscribe.  If you have I hope you enjoyed it.  And whether you have or have not, here are some additional pics--the ones that didn't quite make the cut.

Illustrated Instructional Stamp September 19 2014, 0 Comments

I created this instructional illustration to stamp on the back of Osage's shipping envelopes--just in case anyone hasn't used these type of buckles before.  Of course it's not difficult and once you get used to it you may very well like them more than conventional style buckles--I sure do!

TREESOUL: The Old Soldier At Fort Harrods July 29 2014, 0 Comments

Introducing the TREESOUL blog series--a tribute to North American trees written and illustrated by myself.

First in the series is "The Old Soldier At Fort Harrods" featuring the unofficial National Champion Osage Orange tree (Maclura pomifera) at Fort Harrods in Harrodsburg, Kentucky.  I didn't just watch the kids climb it, I got up there too...a very impressive, ancient tree.

The Littlest Belt Buckle February 10 2014, 0 Comments

The kid is a natural in front of the camera.

Jack's Cedar is Eastern Red Cedar, Juniperus virginiana.

He wasn't completely sure about it at first, but now he loves to show it off--along with his cowboy boots.
